In crisis situations, what counts is efficient help, tailored to the individual needs of people who lose their life's work as a result of disasters. The Amica Group, in cooperation with aid organizations and local authorities, has committed itself to providing household appliances to families affected by the consequences of tragic events in Poland and Spain, where Electrodomésticos Iberia SL (Fagor brand), a subsidiary of the Amica Group, is headquartered.

Poznań: tragedy in Jeżyce

The explosion in a tenement house on Kraszewskiego Street in Poznań's Jeżyce district was a dramatic event that shocked the residents of Poznań. The explosion in the building's basement led to a construction disaster - the structure of the tenement house was completely destroyed. As a result of the tragedy, 11 firefighters were injured, and two of them lost their lives. Several residents of the tenement house were injured, and several dozen people lost their homes.

Amica, in agreement with local authorities, delivered household appliances to the most affected families. The material support provided included equipment in the form of washing machines, fridges-freezers, microwaves, refrigerators and cookers.

- In such situations, the most important thing is quick and specific action. We know that returning to normal after the tragedy is a long process, but we hope that our help will allow the victims to rebuild their everyday lives - says Anna Rakowska, Manager of social and employee projects at the Amica Group.

The Amica Group is monitoring the situation and is in contact with the organisations coordinating aid and with local authorities to take further support measures if necessary.

Lądek-Zdrój: support after a natural disaster

The disaster that affected the residents of the city and commune of Lądek-Zdrój caused serious damage to infrastructure, leaving many households without basic equipment. In response to the urgent needs of the local community, the Amica Group donated 50 electric cookers, which were given to the most affected families.

The assistance provided is to support the residents of Lądek-Zdrój in returning to everyday life and rebuilding their achievements, at least by taking care of basic kitchen equipment in their homes.

Spain: support for victims of the worst flood in the country's history

The October floods in the province of Valencia brought one of the worst natural disasters in Spain. Heavy rains and storms caused flooding and destruction, especially in the eastern regions of the country. According to the Spanish rescue services, the death toll exceeded 200 people, and hundreds of families lost their homes.

In the face of this tragedy, the Spanish subsidiary of the Amica Group – the Fagor brand, Electrodomésticos Iberia SL, in cooperation with the Rotary Club of Spain, got involved in helping the victims. As part of the support, 40 induction hobs were delivered to the families most affected by the flood.

- The scale of this tragedy is unimaginable. The Rotary Club has been organising aid on site from the very first days, and we wanted to be actively involved, providing equipment as a gesture of solidarity and practical support - says Monika Chojnowska, director of Fagor Electrodoméstico.
