Michał Rakowski, Vice-President of the Management Board for Finance at the Amica Group, has won the CFO Excellence Award in the ‘CFO of the Year – Manufacturing and Logistics’ category. The competition, organised by the Polish newspaper Rzeczpospolita, recognises finance leaders who influence the development, resilience and transformation of the organisations they manage.

The competition jury analysed over 70 entries and shortlisted four nominees in each category, and subsequently selected the winners. The awards were presented for the first time, and their goal is to honour Chief Financial Officers who set high standards for financial management in Polish companies. The ‘Manufacturing and Logistics’ category recognises CFOs operating in a demanding manufacturing and logistics environment, where operational efficiency, financial resilience, cost management, and process optimisation are of paramount importance.

The award for Michał Rakowski confirms the Amica Group’s consistent efforts to improve profitability, strengthen operational efficiency, and manage working capital. In recent years, the company has been operating in the challenging environment of the European household appliances market, and has had to deal with such issues as a slowdown in demand, cost pressures, and high levels of competition within the sector. In spite of this, the Amica Group has continued to focus on its ‘Back to Profitability’ strategy, improving its results, building up cash reserves, increasing process efficiency and preparing the organisation for further development investments.

‘I regard this award, above all, as recognition of the work of the entire Amica Group team. Effective financial management in such a challenging environment is not just a matter of financial decisions, but the result of partnership between many people and the consistent pursuit of shared objectives. The “Back to Profitability” strategy has been an important guiding principle for us, as it allows us to strengthen profitability, increase efficiency and build a stable foundation for the group’s further development’, says Michał Rakowski, Vice-President of the Management Board for Finance at the Amica Group.

Michał Rakowski has been with the Amica Group since 2003. He has progressed through the company’s ranks, starting in managerial roles within the accounting division, moving on to the position of Chief Accountant, and eventually becoming Vice-President of the Management Board for Finance. As CFO, he co-developed the ‘Back to Profitability’ strategy and supports initiatives aimed at strengthening profitability, financial efficiency, and the Group’s further development, including expansion processes and oversight of selected subsidiaries.

At the CFO Excellence Awards gala, finance leaders were recognised in several categories corresponding to the most important areas of modern management. Michał Rakowski was also nominated in the ‘CFO of the Year – Growth and Expansion’ category, which further highlights the scope and significance of his work in the Amica Group.
