On Sunday, 16th June, the great sporting celebration of runners and Nordic Walking enthusiasts, the Wronki Ten Kilometre Run, took place for the tenth time. In the jubilee 10th edition of the race, 427 adult participants took part. They tested their skills in three categories: the Main Run over a distance of 10 km, a 5 km run, and a Nordic Walking march. Among the participants was a large 70-strong representation of employees from the Amica Group, which has been a partner of the event for years and a sponsor of the prizes.
The Wronki Running Club has, for the past ten years, traditionally invited both runners and walking enthusiasts to engage in active leisure. The Wronki Ten Kilometre Run is an event that enjoys great interest among local residents. It is an important occasion for both athletes and supporters, who cheer enthusiastically along the route. Each year, hundreds of runners gather to take part in the race or the march — this year, the number approached nearly 600 participants.
This year’s event started promptly at 10:00 AM at the boulevards by the Warta River, with the route running through the Amica factory grounds. In the 10 km race, Kuba Szymankiewicz emerged victorious, completing the course in 32 minutes and 53 seconds. The fastest woman was Sandra Więckowska, finishing in 39 minutes and 10 seconds.
Among the participants in the 5 km distance, the quickest was Radosław Buras, who completed the distance in just 18 minutes and 59 seconds. The fastest woman in this category was Katarzyna Pasieka, who finished in 21 minutes and 26 seconds.
The event also saw the participation of Nordic Walking enthusiasts. This time, they were observed by one of the best judges in Poland, Szymon Sypniewski, who has been involved with Nordic Walking as a competitor, instructor, trainer, and judge for six years. The best in this category was Jacek Witucki, who completed the designated route in 30 minutes and 16 seconds. Just behind him was Agnieszka Mielecka, finishing in 31 minutes and 16 seconds.
The employees of the Amica Group also achieved very good results. In the 5 km distance, the fastest was Marcin Urban, who finished in 20 minutes and 4 seconds (6th place in the open category). Among the Nordic Walkers, the best was Mateusz Ratajczak, completing the course in 37 minutes and 16 seconds (13th place in the open category). In the 10 km race, Mateusz Rodewald was the quickest, finishing in 37 minutes and 38 seconds.
The organisers did not forget about the youngest participants, for whom a special children’s race was prepared with three distances: 100, 400, and 800 metres. About 130 children took part.
"The Wronki Ten Kilometre Run, which has become a permanent fixture in the calendar of the most important running events in the region, is a significant occasion not only for the local community but also for our company and employees. It’s an excellent opportunity to engage in sport together, promote an active lifestyle, and foster integration. We are therefore thrilled that we could participate in this jubilee edition of this unique sporting celebration, and I congratulate all the winners, as well as all the participants for their fantastic results," says Eliza Orepiuk-Szymura, PR Manager of the Amica Group.
The competition involved 70 employees from the Amica Group, and a water curtain operated by their colleagues from the OSP Amica firefighting team awaited them at the factory — along with live music and, of course, loud cheering.
At the finish line, participants were greeted with medals, a jubilee cake, a stand with fruit and freshly squeezed juices, as well as special prizes sponsored by the Amica Group. These included microwave ovens, vacuum cleaners, grills, toasters, and blenders.
