On 11 September, interactive ecological workshops were held at the hospital on Wrzoska Street in Poznań for young patients. About 40 children participated, taking a break from their treatment to learn about proper waste segregation and ecology while having fun.

The workshops, organised by Amica's Certification and Ecology Department, aimed to educate the youngest about environmental protection through interactive presentations and activities. The children actively participated in quizzes and tasks that helped them understand the importance of waste sorting. All attendees engaged enthusiastically in the planned activities, from quizzes to creative stations where they made toys from recycled materials.

“We were greatly impressed by the children’s engagement. They eagerly participated in quizzes, asked questions, and shared their observations. It was clear how curious they were about new information, and they enjoyed taking a break from their daily treatment challenges. Creating toys from recycled materials and playing with colourful waste bins are moments they will remember for a long time. This shows how important such initiatives are – we not only share knowledge but also provide moments of joy and fun during difficult times. We are thrilled to work with those so sensitive to the well-being of our planet and others,” says Eliza Orepiuk-Szymura, PR Manager at Amica Group.

During the sessions, the children learned how to properly sort waste, reinforcing their knowledge through interactive games, such as activities with colourful waste bins and a magnetic board. At the end of the workshops, each participant received an educational booklet and small gifts to remind them of ecological principles in their daily lives. The organisers plan to continue similar initiatives to promote ecological awareness among the youngest, not just in healthcare facilities. Similar activities are regularly conducted in schools across Greater Poland.

The workshops are part of Amica's volunteer programme, with employees actively engaging in various charitable activities for environmental protection and assisting those in need.
